Gibson County Habitat for Humanity Tennessee Aging in Place program serves citizens of Gibson County, over the age of 65. The program’s goal is to help enable seniors to safely live in their homes.
Aging in Place Program - Established June 2025
Gibson County Habitat for Humanity Tennessee offers the Aging in Place program for residents who are 65 years or older.
This program helps seniors make their homes safer and easier to live in, so they can stay in their homes as they age.
Please note:
This is not an emergency repair service.
We provide important home repairs at no cost to qualifying homeowners.
Repairs depend on available funding.
Examples of Services We Provide
New roofs or roof repair
New HVAC systems or HVAC repair
Plumbing repairs
Structural flooring repairs
Electrical repairs
Appliance repair or replacement
ADA accommodations (ramps, grab bars, etc.)
Weatherization improvements (insulation, sealing, etc.)
Other home safety and accessibility needs as identified
Services We Do Not Provide
Mold remediation
Asbestos abatement
Foundation repair
Work on manufactured or modular homes
Cosmetic or beautification work (painting, landscaping, etc.)
Lead paint removal
To qualify, you must:
Own and live in your home full-time
Proof of ownership required
Apartments, condos, mobile homes, and manufactured homes do not qualify
Be age 65 or older
Live in Gibson County, Tennessee
Be current on property taxes (no past-due city/county taxes)
Be current on your mortgage or have no mortgage at all
Have no outstanding liens on your home
Meet income guidelines
Provide documentation for yourself and everyone living in the home
